Fitout Floorings primary industry. Gyms are known to be challenging spaces, their flooring needs to withstand high impact and outperform the task in hand. It is more than just flooring – use it as part of your functional training equipment.

Rope Exercises

Functional Spaces

Functional training involves dynamic movement and exercisers may use equipment such as kettle bells, dumbbells, slam balls, battle ropes, tractor tyres and plyometric boxes in these areas.

Therefore it is important the floor covering is fit for purpose, providing users with a good grip and sufficient cushioning underfoot, while also protecting the sub-floor.

Speed and agility drills are also performed in these areas and custom line markings can be introduced to give benefits to the programming.

Changing rooms

Flooring for changing, shower and locker rooms have to perform in unique conditions. Flooring in these areas must be able to accommodate various conditions, including:

- High humidity, Excessive heat/steam
- Bare feet & wet slippery floors
- Soaps, detergents and harsh     cleaners
- Spiked shoes, soil and dirt from outdoor playing fields
- Sports or work equipment     tossed about and onto floors
- Grease, oil or chemicals in manufacturing locations
- A variety of fluids and  chemicals in hospital or lab buildings
- Swimming pool chlorine where pools are present

Flooring in these areas also need to be highly chemical resistant to protect against damage from personal products like cologne, hair spray, certain deodorants, aftershave, topical medication and lotions, all of which could have high solvent or chemical content.

Rope Exercises

Free Weight Areas

Weight training is an extremely popular type of activity in the gym and it is inevitable weights will be dropped on the floor.

Repeated heavy impacts can cause long term damage to a subfloor if not adequately protected. It is therefore important to ensure the correct flooring is installed in a free weights area.
